Whether you choose the base or optional engine, you will get more
power from the 2019 Range Rover Sport. This SUV's standard 3.0-liter
supercharged V-6 generates 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque,
while the BMW X5's base 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 only offers 335 horsepower
and 330 pound-feet of torque. If you go for the most powerful engine option,
you will get a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 with an incredible 575 horsepower and
516 pound-feet of torque in the Land Rover and a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 with
456 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque in the BMW.
The Range Rover Sport may be the better choice
if you plan to use your new SUV to tow heavy objects. It has a maximum towing
capacity of 7,716 pounds, while the BMW X5 can only lug up to 7,209 pounds. Additionally, all V-8-powered
models of the Land Rover come with active sway bars. These sway bars help the
SUV stay flat and controlled around turns, and they can disconnect at lower
speeds to deliver a smoother ride and better off-road suspension
articulation.
Measurements
The 2019 Range Rover Sport may also be a better vehicle for city
driving because of its smaller dimensions. It is 2.2 inches shorter and 0.8
inch narrower than the BMW X5. As such, it may be easier to maneuver in tight
spaces and parking lots. Also, the SUV's average track is 1.8 inches wider than
that of its rival, which contributes to a more stable ride. To further improve
stability and traction, it offers 22-inch wheels as an option. The largest
wheels on the X5 are 20 inches.
Luxury & Convenience
If you are a tall person or have tall passengers, you will
appreciate the Range Rover Sport's roomier cabin. It has 2.4 inches more
legroom and 0.7 inch more shoulder room in the front row and 0.4 inch more
headroom and 1.4 inches more shoulder room in the second row than the BMW
X5.
In addition, the Land Rover has a number of notable comfort and
convenience features that you will not find in the BMW. These include a
standard remote starting system that allows you start the engine and warm up
the cabin from inside your home, optional ventilated second-row seats to keep
your rear passengers comfortable on hot summer days, and an available 115-volt
AC outlet for recharging your laptop or running small household
appliances.
If you want to know whether the 2019 Land Rover
Range Rover Sport can meet your expectations, do not hesitate to arrange a test drive.
